Hurricane Idalia/Message #5

Town officials are assessing damage from Idalia, but it appears we have experienced little damage from the storm impacts. 

We ask that people avoid the following areas of Palmetto Boulevard as clean-up work is in progress: the area around the Pavilion for sand and debris clean-up; and 100-600 blocks for debris clean-up. DOT and Colleton County crews will be in town today to assist with clean-up efforts. 

We have experienced some beach damage, and we are further assessing this situation with the Town’s coastal engineers. 

Please be aware that parts of Wyndham are still flooded. 

Please be safe today. Be on the look-out for flooded areas, and the debris scattered about the roads. 

Town Hall will open at 12:00 noon today.
