EPA Mandate/Utilities Department

In compliance with the Environmental Protection Agency, the Town of Edisto Beach will work to be compliant with the federal mandate to reduce the risk of lead in American drinking water. This mandate requires all water systems in the United States to verify the material of every water service line in its system.

Residents may see our Utilities Department staff around the vicinity of homes and businesses as they check on the water service lines in order to comply with this mandate. As per this mandate, the Town’s water service lines also are being reviewed.

The well-being and safety of our residents is particularly important to our Town Council and to the Town of Edisto Beach, so we will work as needed to verify the materials in our service lines.
