Do not place commercially produced waste at the curb. Do not place cardboard at the curb; please take to the Convenience Station at the corner of Holmes Street. Do not place bags outside of the containers; overflow garbage and recycling may be taken to the Convenience Station. Convenience Station walk-in gate is open 24/7.

Republic Services is the Town contractor for residential curbside garbage collection.  Residents may call Republic at (843) 873-4810.  If problems are not resolved, or if you have an issue with your roll cart(s), contact Teresa Bloomingdale.

Roll-In, Roll-Out Garbage Containers

Lyons Contracting has been contracted to roll trash containers out and roll trash containers in.  The monthly cost for this service is $8.00 per container.  Problems should be reported to Teresa Bloomingdale  Residents may opt out of the service by completing an opt out form available at Town Hall.

The convenience station does not accept waste from businesses. 

Recycling

Recyclables may be brought to the Convenience Station during operating hours as noted above. 

Aluminum cans may be placed in the trailer outside the convenience station 24 hours a day.  Funds received from recycling aluminum cans placed in the trailer supports MUSC's Burned Children Fund.   Please do not mix garbage with these recyclables as it contaminates the entire load.

E-Waste

Beginning July 1, 2011, E-Waste is banned from the convenience station and in waste receptacles.  South Carolina legislation has changed and all E-waste is banned from South Carolina landfills.
